The Course on Advanced Corneal Surgery (CoACS) is designed for corneal surgeons of all skill levels (novice to advanced) who are looking to incorporate Descemet’s Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty (DMEK), Deep Anterior Lamellar Keratoplasty (DALK), Collagen Cross-Lining (CXL), and surgical management of dry eye/ocular surface disease into their practice.
Morning didactic lectures will review basic concepts, step-by-step surgical technique, and common surgical pitfalls for DMEK, DALK and CXL. Afternoon wet lab sessions will be supervised by expert faculty in DMEK, DALK, CXL, ocular surface reconstruction and will utilize human tissue, surgical microscopes, and intra-operative OCT microscopes in an immersive environment.
